Kunak: An oil palm smallholder in Tingkayu here claimed that he has been denied access to his land by a group of unknown men and that his property at the plantation has been vandalised as well as his oil palm fruit bunches stolen.
Surath Singh, 52 who recently lodged a report at the Lahad Datu police station claimed that on May 20 at around 3.30pm, a group of 11 men refused to let him enter the land, which he claimed is owned by his wife, Rosie Lambasing.
Singh claimed that his wife, who holds the land grant PT 91240583 were among 171 smallholders who were granted an injunction by the Tawau High Court on February to allow them harvest their respective oil palm fruits.
He also claimed that on the same day he saw four men trespassing into the land and stealing the oil palm fruits while several other men stood guard, adding that the house build on the land was also vandalised and items in the house worth around RM10,000 also missing.
Singh said these acts were tantamount to contempt of the courts, as these individuals did not heed to the court's orders and called on the police to expedite its investigation into the case
